Front-End Software Developer

We’re looking for a Front-End Software Developer, who:

Will have these skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or another technical-related field or minimum of two years relevant work experience
  • Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks and libraries including Angular and TypeScript syntax
  • Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3
  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
  • Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
  • Basic understanding of CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
  • Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image
  • Basic understanding of Responsive CSS and Layouts
  • Familiar with developing/using RESTful application services
  • Minimum two years’ experience in production level, web application development (preferred)

Will achieve these results:

  • Develop and maintain EnergyCAP’s web application software through an Agile-based work environment
  • Translate User Experience (UX) designs into code that produces the visual elements of an enterprise-class web application
  • Deliver software that satisfies documented business requirements and expected user experience
  • Deliver software that conforms to team coding standards and processes
  • Meet critical software release deadlines while not sacrificing the quality of the product

Will do these types of things:

  • Develop new user-facing features
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
  • Participate in a peer-review process that ensures all code is consistent with team coding standards and processes
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner, Designers, Development Team, and Testers to deliver high-quality software

Travel: This position, which reports to the Vice President of Development, is based in State College, PA is not expected to travel, but may be asked if the occasion warrants.
